TAKE A LOOK AT THE CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 2.7 L 4-CYLINDER TRUCK
America loves Chevy trucks. Trucks outsell SUVs and cars, and they have for several years. But most of the people out there that own trucks don't use them for hauling, towing or other heavy-duty jobs very often.
If you're not doing heavy-duty hauling, consider the Chevy Silverado 1500 2.7 L 4-Cylinder for your next truck purchase. Worried that a four cylinder truck won't work for you? Let's get some answers!

Is the 2.7L Silverado 1500 cheaper?
MSRP on the 2.7L Silverado 1500 truck is around $1,500-$2,500 less, depending on trim level and drive train. Talk to Larkin Cobb Chevrolet GMC for the best deal.
Will the 2022 2.7L Silverado get better gas mileage?
With the smaller engine, the four-cylinder Silverado gets on average three to five more miles per gallon than a V8 Silverado. That may not seem like much, but that's anywhere from 75 - 125 extra miles before you have to fill up again. Compare the 2.7L to the Silverado V8 engine:
What about towing?
Depending on the trim level, the Silverado 2.7L can tow anywhere from 8,900 to 9,600 lbs with a ball trailer hitch. That's a few hundred pounds less than the Silverado 1500 in the V8, but change to the fifth wheel or gooseneck hitch, and the 2.7L Silverado can often tow more weight than the V8 option. Take a look at AutoList's excellent guide to towing capacity, and GM Authority's guide to towing capabilities.
What about payload? I haul things in my truck.
Depending on the vehicle configuration, the 2.7L engine gives you a max payload rating between 1,950 and 2,270 pounds. Equal to or exceeding several of the other Silverado 1500 engine options.
Does the 2.7L Silverado 1500 come in 4 wheel drive?
Yes it does, as well as the 2-wheel drive option.
What trim levels does the 2.7L Silverado come in?
The 2.7 liter 4-cylinder Silverado comes in the following trim levels: WT, Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, and LT Trail Boss. The 2.7L is not available in the ZR2 off-roading trim, but that doesn't mean you can't take it off-roading. It's also not available in the LTZ or High Country trim.
What about performance and power? I don't want an undersized vehicle!
It's not a sluggish truck. This is the full-sized Silverado you're used to, but with a smaller, more powerful engine. For the 2022 model year, that engine's torque has been significantly increased. The turbocharged 2.7L engine in the Silverado 1500 produces 420 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm, which is 20% greater than the 2021 model year. The engine's horsepower remains constant at 310 horsepower at 5,600 rpm.
